The company needed to demonstrate AI’s business value with a trusted use case. Their merchant category code (MCC) validation process was manual, error-prone, and slowing operational efficiency.
Solution
Fiserv implemented UiPath GenAI Activities to automate MCC code selection using prompt-based validation. UiPath Robots extracted merchant data, cross-checked it using Bing API, and applied AI-driven decisioning. 98% of use cases were automated with validation rules, while edge cases were routed to UiPath Action Center. UiPath Autopilot was used to identify workflow errors and enhance performance.
Results
Fiserv saved 12,000 hours annually, achieved 98% end-to-end automation for MCC workflows, enhanced accuracy, reduced failure rates through root-cause troubleshooting, and significantly improved operational reliability and performance.
